SPECIAL and INVITED SESSION
ORGANIZATION GUIDELINES

To enhance the technical program and focus on specific topics and areas, the symposium will include invited and special sessions. Invited and special sessions can cover topics which belong to a specific track or multi-track subjects in the technical scope of the symposium. In the case of invited sessions, particular individuals or groups will be contacted to organize a session on a particular topic, whereas special sessions allow opportunity for a broader audience to propose topics.
Papers are preferred, but sessions can also include a combination of invited presentations and tutorials. Up to three 1.5hr sessions can be utilized for each proposal.

SPECIAL SESSION PROPOSAL

The proposal for a special session should be sent by Special Session Organizers to the General Chair (Craig.Rieger@inl.gov) or through Track Co-chairs, and should include:

Special/Invited Session Organizers will request the authors to submit their papers by the due date as advised on the symposium web site. Calls for papers will be posted on the "Special Sessions" page of the symposium web site.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCESS

Authors should submit their manuscripts using the symposium paper electronic submission system (as for regular tracks).

IMPORTANT DATES FOR AUTHORS

THE REVIEW PROCESS

The Special/Invited Session Organizers will take care of managing the review process of their special sessions, through the symposium paper submission system. Authors contributing to a special session are not to be nominated as reviewers for the papers from the same session.

MILESTONES

The Organizers of the Special/Invited Sessions will prepare the final composition of their sessions, based on the outcome of the review process. During the symposium, Session Organizers have to serve as chairs for the sessions of their Special/Invited Session. In order to allow proper composition of the Special/Invited Session, a minimum of 4 accepted papers is needed (in case of a lower number of accepted papers, these papers will be moved to the adequate regular tracks).

MISCELLANEOUS

As for regular papers, each accepted paper must be presented at the symposium by one of the authors.
